About Jack
I am a current high school teacher with a background in music who has taught guitar to a number of people of all ages and abilities for a number of years. I listen to and am proficient in a number of styles of music and possess a strong knowledge of music theory.
Outside of teaching I've performed live with several different bands over the years, playing both acoustic and electric - just don't ask me to sing!

I love playing a wide variety of music, so I'm happy to tailor each lesson to whatever genre you're interested in learning (rock, acoustic, punk, pop, metal, country, music theory, basics of recording songs etc.) By allowing students to choose what they want to learn, I find they have a lot more fun learning to play the guitar and as a result make much quicker progress.
I hated guitar when I first started learning it as a kid because my first guitar teacher would only teach me songs from the 50s I'd never heard of - as soon as I went to a teacher that was happy to teach me how to play some Blink 182 songs I fell in love with playing and never looked back!
Whether you want to learn your first chords and scales, learn how to play solos, learn how to improvise or learn how to shred your way through a more advanced song (or anything in between) I can help you out.

Details
Pricing for all lessons includes the cost of travel for me to come to your door and deliver the lesson (price may vary slightly depending on how far I need to travel to meet you).
I can also offer 30 minute lessons (which I think are a great option, especially for younger guitarists) at $30/lesson.
