About Orly
I have a degree in civil engineering and am currently a second year medical student, having worked as an engineer and a teacher before deciding to pursue medicine. I’ve tutored for many years at the college level, and I have a secondary science teaching license. I have a broad base of science knowledge from all of these varied experiences, as well as a well developed teaching skillset. In my free time, I enjoy travel, live music, and watching cooking shows with my partner and our two cats.

Science classes can be overwhelming, but science doesn’t have to be.
Students learn science best when they can connect it to their own understanding of the world. That’s why so many students who struggle in large, impersonal lectures will thrive once they have access to one-on-one tutoring. A good tutor can ask the right questions and meet you exactly where you are, which is a privilege teachers and lecturers just don’t have when they have to teach everyone all at once.
During the years I’ve spent tutoring in the sciences, I learned exactly how to gauge a student’s understanding and work out what they need from me next. Even when you feel like you are totally lost, you might just be a couple of guiding questions away from gaining a meaningful understanding of the content.
