About Kylie
Hello! I’m a professional painter and MFA candidate with experience both creating and teaching art at the university level. During graduate school, I worked on the university art gallery’s installation team, where I gained hands-on experience handling and installing professional artwork and exhibitions. I later served as a Teaching Assistant, helping students strengthen their technical skills and creative confidence. This year, I will be teaching Drawing I as a university professor, continuing my passion for helping artists grow.
I believe anyone can learn to draw and paint with the right guidance, patience, and practice. My lessons are patient, personalized, and designed to meet students where they are, whether they’re complete beginners or looking to refine their skills. My goal is to help students build a strong artistic foundation while encouraging creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of making art.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and experience level, whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to strengthen your artistic skills. We can cover drawing fundamentals such as line quality, shading, value, perspective, proportion, and composition before moving into more advanced techniques. For painting, I emphasize color theory, color mixing, brushwork, and developing confidence with acrylic or oil paints. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students build strong foundational skills while developing their own creative voice and artistic style.
