About Max
I am a reasonably big nerd, but love my outdoor activities like rock climbing and hiking. I also enjoy martial arts and reading. I tutor because I really believe that the school system has failed to make learning fun. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen teachers not know how to teach their subject and frankly it upsets me. So I try to tutor so that other kids don't have to deal with inconsistent teachers or teaching methods, and so that they have someone closer to their age to learn from.

I am an incredibly patient individual and I very firmly believe, based on my own experiences with the school system, that creating a positive experience very important ie. I always try to become friends.
That said also believe massively in practice and in simply doing math. I don't believe in showing kids seven different methods to do something instead focusing just on numbers and how to manipulate them.
I believe in teaching a topic and then teaching how it connects with other things and why it is important.
