I am currently a second year medical student at the University of Leeds offering tutoring for GCSE maths. I achieved all A*s in my A-levels and GCSEs and I am very keen to share the methods I used.

About Betsey
As a medical student, I have always been very passionate about finding the best ways of learning and sharing these with others. I am also very appreciative that people can have different learning styles and will adapt my approach to work individually with each student. In addition, through my experience of volunteering and working in healthcare environments, with people of all ages, I know how to communicate positively and effectively with patience. Lastly, as a 19-year-old, I also believe I can be more relatable and approachable for students of GCSE age and understand any barriers to learning or revision they might face.

I have lots of tutoring experience, for GCSE maths, through tutoring students at my secondary school and family friends. I have also helped many students in the past with revision planning and management, as from my experience structured and effective studying is extremely helpful. My lessons are suitable for anyone who is studying for GCSE maths. I plan to work with students to show them methods I used during GCSEs and A-levels and also adapt to their individual learning styles. For my approach to tutoring I will: work with students to find key areas of difficulty and create revision checklists; use exam style questions for practice; give students resources to complete outside of lessons which they can then ask questions about; help students with revision planning and effective use of time. For a typical session, I think between 1-2hrs works best.
