About Aliya
In all honesty, when I was younger I didn't enjoy STEM based subjects as I found them too difficult. However, once I got the right teachers I realised that these subjects weren't too difficult I just didn't understand the content to the best of my ability. Once I unlocked this skill, learning these subjects became a lot easier, hence, a lot more enjoyable. I quickly developed a passion for the sciences and maths and now I am keen to take them at university.
Having achieved 9s in chemistry, physics and maths for my GCSEs and 3 predicted A*s for these subjects at A-level. I think I have a strong fundamental understanding of these subjects Also, I am currently doing an Extended Project Qualification in electrical engineering, making me understand chemistry and physics to an even further extent. Hence, I believe I am qualified to teach these subjects.

I am 17 years old and currently doing my last year in college. Although I haven't professionally tutored before, I have been helping my classmates with various science/ math related questions for years. Additionally, I was made the physics subject mentor at my school this year which allowed me to help students from various year groups with a variety of skillsets. I believe I am well qualified to tutor as I have a strong passion for the subjects and I want others to enjoy them as much as I do.
My lessons will focus on Physics, Chemistry and Maths as these are the subjects that I am most passionate about and taking for my A-levels. I am happy to teach these subjects for any year group in Secondary school and Sixth Form.
I think the main part about learning anything is understanding it. Understanding content not only makes it easier to answer questions but also makes it easier to remember the content for the long term. Therefore, during my lessons, I would focus primarily on explaining why things are the way they are, as opposed to helping the tutee memorise the key information. Additionally, another very useful teaching technique is doing practice questions. This technique has helped me improve my grades exponentially as I get in the habit of maintaining strong exam techniques. Hence, in my lessons, I would try to go through practice questions to consolidate knowledge and to make the tutee comfortable with exam-style questions. My lessons would be an hour long.
