About Ava
I am a current student at Appalachian State. My major is Studio art, and I have a minor in Psychology. I want to be an Art therapist! Through my art journey, I have grown into an artist I had never expected. Keeping up the passion has helped my career path. We will treat this as an art class but with no critiques, keeping it casual with uplifting encouragements for change/progression. Projects will be assigned to help create outside of the lessons. This is a safe space! Art is supposed to be fun, but it is you who determines that experience. The previous statement has been said to me countless times in my art classes!

I offer a creative environment, wherever your skills are at a baseline, to express yourself freely with no judgment. Painting and drawing are for fun and should be a way of expression, and to do that, you have to have a safe atmosphere. This space is for me you to take your art to a new level and be confident in what you create! A typical lesson would include painting and drawing landscapes, shading, and figuring out a color palette for your design while pushing to enhance your reach in your creativity, similar to what I have learned in my drawing and painting foundations classes.
