About Mackenzie
Hello, my name is Mackenzie and I'm originally from Newcastle however, currently live in Sheffield as im a student at the University of Sheffield. Throughout school Maths was always my worst subject and I really struggled with it so, as a result I also looked for a tutor to try and fill in any knowledge gaps that my teacher couldn't, weirdly enough my tutor helped me discover a genuine passion for Maths and the grade 4/C I was hovering around for all of year 10 turned into a 9/ A* at GCSE and then went on to get an A* at A-Level and now I'm studying it at a top university, which is just crazy considering I used to dread going to lessons. This also helped me with other Maths based subjects like Physics, which I also did at A-level and received an A* so can assure you're in good hands in terms of tutoring. In terms of hobbies I love to watch the football and love swimming as-well outside of my degree and just in general socialising with friends.

Typically offer 1 hour lessons for GCSE Maths and Physics however can extend these if necessary if a student needs some more practice. Throughout the lessons, I'll start by guiding students through a practice problem on a particular topic showing and explaining the necessary steps to get top marks on any question related to the particular topic, then we would continue going through some more questions until my student feels comfortable enough to try out a problem on their own. Towards exam season, I normally put together some practice papers with the toughest questions that have appeared on all exam boards for my students to get a feel of the "worst case scenario" which in the past has worked really well and typically calms nerves and helps identify any errors that are still present so we can work on them leading up to the exam.
