About Jacob
I am an electrical engineering student in my fourth year at Curtin University. I do not have much maths tutoring experience but I did teach martial arts for a time so I am not completely new to teaching. I believe I have the ability to help those that are struggling with their mathematics.

I believe my teaching method must be balanced. I do not want my students to feel pressured when trying to grasp a concept they already struggle with but at the same time a student must be encouraged to engage with the things they find difficult in order to build confidence.
I base my classes on my previous experience as a student and what I found to work for me. I have struggled with many different branches of mathematics but I got to where I am through consistency and determination.
I approach topic by first breaking it down into its sub-components, many small problems are easier to solve than one large problem. I have been reminded of this concept many times during my studies at University.
