About Katie
I’m a DALF C1-certified French tutor based in Cambridge, with a strong academic background and real-world experience of living and working in French.
I grew up in Cambridge and studied Law at Oxford University, before spending much of my twenties working internationally with human rights NGOs.
Throughout this time, I continued studying French, including at Alliance Française schools in Cambridge, London and Paris, and I lived in Paris for six months as an au pair with a French family, using French daily in professional, family, and social settings.
My goal is to help encourage students' enthusiasm and improve their confidence in the French language, either through structured support for their exams or general conversational practice for spending time in France.
I have previous experience tutoring French during my school years. I am fully DBS checked and happy to work with learners of different ages and levels.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and engaging, designed to help students make real progress while staying motivated.
For primary and secondary students, I offer creative, age-appropriate lessons that reinforce school learning and build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I’m happy to follow your school’s syllabus, support with homework, or focus on specific problem areas.
For adult learners, I offer conversation-focused sessions to improve fluency, confidence, and natural expression, using guided topics and practical vocabulary.
Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes and always tailored to the learner’s level, goals, and learning style. I adapt activities to keep sessions focused, enjoyable, and effective.
