About Ingrid

I'm a qualified English tutor with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), 3 years of classroom teaching experience, 10 years of private tutoring experience, and an overall IELTS Academic score of 8.5. Having recently relocated to Wollongong, I'm excited to help school students and English language learners build confidence, improve their English skills, and achieve their goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated and patient English tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience, having tutored students since 2015. During this time, I have worked with primary and secondary school students (Grades 1–10), helping them build confidence, strengthen their language skills, and achieve excellent academic results.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit the individual's goals, strengths, and learning style. Rather than relying on memorisation, I focus on helping students understand concepts through clear explanations, interactive discussions, regular practice, and constructive feedback.

My lessons cover grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, pronunciation, and exam preparation, depending on the student's needs.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. Lessons usually begin with a quick review of previous work, followed by introducing new concepts, guided practice, and exercises that reinforce learning. I also provide personalised tips and homework where appropriate to help students continue improving between lessons.

Over the years, I have helped many students significantly improve their academic performance. One example is a student who joined me in Grade 9 after scoring 55% in English. Through consistent guidance and structured preparation over two years, she achieved 97% in her ICSE Board examination, demonstrating the impact of personalised and dedicated tutoring.
