About Troy
I fell in love with the guitar as a teenager, and that passion has grown into a fulfilling teaching career over the past 8 years. What started as personal exploration turned into a desire to share the joy, confidence, and creative freedom that music brings. Guiding students through their musical journey has shown me how uplifting and empowering the guitar can be. My teaching style is friendly, flexible, and student-centered. I value curiosity, enjoyment, and steady improvement. Whether a student thrives with structure or prefers a more creative and explorative learning style, I adapt to ensure lessons remain inspiring and effective. I believe that everyone can play — it just requires the right guidance and encouragement. Outside of teaching, I continue to expand my skills by learning new techniques, exploring various genres, and collaborating with musicians. Music remains a source of joy and self-expression in my life, and sharing that joy with students is one of the most meaningful parts of my journey as a guitarist and educator.

My guitar lessons are built around making music enjoyable, accessible, and creatively fulfilling. I believe learning guitar should feel like unlocking a new world of rhythm, melody, and self-expression. Whether you dream of playing your favorite songs, writing music, or performing, lessons are designed to spark passion and foster steady progress.
Beginners start with foundational skills such as chords, strumming, finger placement, rhythm, and playing simple songs. As students grow, we explore fingerstyle, riffs, song arrangements, improvisation, and reading chord charts or tabs. Intermediate and advanced players can dive into stylistic development across genres like pop, rock, blues, acoustic, or indie, as well as technique refinement, soloing, and creative artistry. Each lesson includes a balance of technique, musicality, and song-based learning tailored to the student’s goals.
Students often express that lessons leave them energized and excited to practice. I aim to help learners not only play guitar well but also develop personal expression, musical creativity, and enjoyment. Ultimately, guitar becomes a life companion — a tool for relaxation, connection, and artistic growth.
