Since my career in teaching began in the late nineties one of my primary goals has been to create a comfortable learning environment. All students must feel confident that the information being taught and how they respond to it are centered in trust. In a classroom mistakes are made and should be learned from rather than ridiculed. If we want children or adults to “have no fear” then developing that understanding is essential to progress. This has always been and continues to be my modus operandi when beginning a new program. Increase their comfort level and they become convinced of their abilities.
