About Deepankar
I show up with a spirit for service because a lot of life mentors in my life were my former tutors! By being proactive with students' learning outcomes, I keep going back to the drawing board so to speak on how to improve how students learn and how I can learn to become a better educator by utilizing customizable learning styles and content prep material readings. Being an open learner and active listener are important to me because it makes me a stronger educator when I am learning about how I can do better and engage each and every student that comes my way. I use weekly check ins before tutoring sessions to make sure we are on same page via email to check in with resources and updated tutoring plans so that the student's progress is supported in a holistic manner. After working with students for the last 10 years from grade school to graduate school years in the Midwest, East Coast and West Coast, I am pretty confident to be able to engage any student coming my way to support them in their long term learning outcomes so they feel empowered and not just educated!

I love inventing individualized tutoring plans with new students by using creativity and compassion as the guiding principles to help set up SMART goals to track along with other folks in the process, such as school counselors, teachers, and parents! Using an interconnectedness approach, I help map out learning outcomes in an integrated and milestone-spaced manner to give the student time and alternative paths to learning the same concepts in standardized test prep, AP courses, collegiate coursework in science/humanities, and graduate course prep!
