About Özgür
I am currently studying Computer Science at University College London (UCL). Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), where I studied Mathematics AA HL, Physics HL, and Computer Science HL, achieving 42/45 overall (41/42 excluding core points).
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students develop deeper understanding and intellectual confidence. Throughout my own education, I found that the most valuable learning came not from memorisation, but from understanding ideas at a fundamental level. I hope to help students approach subjects more critically, independently, and with greater curiosity.

I believe that many students struggle not because they are “bad” at a subject or unintelligent, but because they lack understanding at a fundamental level. Over time, these conceptual gaps accumulate and make more advanced topics increasingly difficult to grasp.
My approach is therefore focused first on identifying and filling these gaps in understanding. Rather than encouraging rote memorisation, I aim to help students reason from first principles and develop genuine confidence in the material.
I also try to provoke curiosity and interest by demonstrating the real-world relevance and practical applications of what students are learning.
To keep the scope focused, I currently offer one-on-one online tutoring sessions of one hour in the following areas:
High school mathematics (IB, GCSE, A-Level)
High school physics (IB, GCSE)
Computer science and programming (all levels)
Essay writing, learning, and research skills
