Hello and welcome! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology (Piano History) and have over 4 years of experience teaching jazz piano. My approach highlights improvisation, comping technique, and harmonic expansion. Students dive into advanced voicings and chord colors. I teach jazz theory, transcription, rhythmic control, and ear-focused chord recognition. This builds confidence and originality. I mentor pianists from Early Intermediate to Professional jazz levels. I teach piano through a balance of creativity, structure, and practical composition. Students learn how to craft melodies, harmonies, and full-length songs. I focus on building musical ideas from short motifs into complete works. Lessons include creating intros, outros, transitions, and thematic development. Therapy Seekers are guided to express emotion and find clarity through piano writing. Jazz Pianists learn to combine improvisation with formal song structures. Ear training for chords, intervals, and harmonic progressions is central to my method. Students also develop rhythmic control, phrasing, and voice leading skills. I provide detailed feedback and strategies to improve compositions efficiently. Every lesson encourages experimentation, confidence, and personal voice. Students learn how to turn ideas into musical narratives. I support Early Intermediate to Advanced learners in developing original pieces. My approach ensures that each pianist grows technically and creatively. By the end of the lessons, students can compose music that reflects their identity. You will gain the tools to write your own original piano music and leave a lasting artistic impact.
