Previously, I was a drum tutor In MC Music HK, a renowned music school in Hong Kong. I have experience teaching both adults and children, understanding the unique needs and learning styles of different age groups. My Approach to Drum Kit Tutoring
In my drum kit lessons, I focus on developing a comprehensive understanding of drumming through various techniques and methodologies:
- Coordination: Enhancing hand-foot coordination is a fundamental part of my teaching. I employ exercises and drills to improve your ability to synchronize your limbs effectively.
- Counting: Learning to count beats and rhythms accurately is crucial for any drummer. I teach counting techniques to ensure you can keep time and understand rhythmic patterns.
- Reading Notes: I emphasize the importance of reading drum notation, helping you to understand and interpret sheet music.
- Rudiments: Mastering different rudiments is essential for building a strong drumming foundation. We’ll cover a range of rudiments and apply them in musical contexts.
- Learning Through Songs: I believe in making learning fun and relevant. You can choose your favorite songs to learn, which I’ll use to teach various drumming techniques and concepts.
Lesson Structure
Each lesson is 60 minutes long, providing ample time for warm-ups, exercises, and song practice.

- Rockschool Grade 8 Certified Drummer: I have achieved the highest level of certification in drum kit from Rockschool, demonstrating my proficiency and knowledge in drumming.
- 4 Years of Teaching Experience: I have been teaching drumming for four years, during which I’ve developed effective teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs.
