About Lilly
Hi! My name is Lilly, and I am currently a student at Duquesne University with a strong passion for English, writing, and helping students succeed academically. I am patient, organized, and dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on adapting my teaching style to fit each student’s individual needs and goals. Whether a student needs help with grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, or overall study skills, I strive to make lessons clear, supportive, and encouraging. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel more confident and motivated in school.

Hi! My name is Lilly, and I am currently a student at Duquesne University with a passion for English, writing, and helping students gain confidence in their academic abilities. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, communication, and adapting lessons to each student’s individual learning style. I believe students learn best when concepts are explained clearly and in a way that feels relatable rather than overwhelming. I enjoy helping with reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, proofreading, and overall writing organization.
A typical lesson may include reviewing school assignments, practicing writing techniques, improving grammar and sentence structure, reading passages together, and working through areas the student may be struggling with. I also focus on building confidence and helping students feel more prepared in the classroom.
What sets me apart is my positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to connect with students in a supportive and motivating way. As a current college student, I understand the academic pressure students can face, and I strive to make learning productive while still keeping lessons engaging and encouraging.
My lessons are best suited for elementary, middle school, and high school students who want extra support in English, writing, reading comprehension, or general study skills.
