About Sophie
Hi, I'm Sophie, a second year student at Durham University studying Accounting and Finance. I have a passion for languages, as well as Maths and I'd love to share this with students, in order to boost their confidence so they are able to achieve their top grades.

I get to know my students by guiding them through some sample questions during their first session, to see exactly what areas we need to focus on and where to start. I also take into consideration what the student thinks they're struggling in and monitor these areas carefully.
As sessions go on, I allow the student to become more independent in answering questions, e.g. If a student is struggling during the start, I'll guide them through questions and examples until they become more confident in the material, then I encourage them to try a few on their own, to see how well they understand the material.
I also help to ease some exam-anxiety by talking the student through tips and tricks which helped me greatly whilst doing exams. This helps a lot with their confidence, knowing what kinds of questions are likely to come up and how to tackle them.
