I have found with tutoring that I take pride in the work that I do when I am really able to help a student improve and ensure that they have confidence in their own ability. I like the challenges of getting to know new students and understanding their individual needs and requirements and adapting my teaching style accordingly.

I have experience tutoring maths to children aged 6-16. In some cases this is general homework help, whereas in others I have helped students work towards exams such as 11+, GCSE and A Level. This also means that I have accumulated a large number of resources that I am able to use when in my lessons.
When tutoring, I firstly aim to understand exactly what the student's goals are and what they might be struggling with. I then make sure to target those problem topics with specific questions. This, combined with looking at some broader sets of questions ensures that the student has a thorough understanding of the subject. I am very flexible in this approach and happy to take on board any specific needs or requirements. My lessons are typical an hour long.
