About Ruben
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, since then I moved to Japan and the USA. Along the way I picked up the Japanese language and know the struggles, as well as techniques and methods that come with learning a second language.
My experience comes from hands-on interactions with people that wished to learn my language. Combining casual conversations as well as targeted practice.

Each lesson is a focus on a topic that you want to grasp. I don't believe in a class setting, the fastest way to learn anything is having a motivation. You wish to learn how to handle a Dutch funeral setting, your company is sending you off for 3 months to the Netherlands and you need to get basic business Dutch etiquette down, or simply writing a birthday card for your Dutch partner. Those scenarios are what we build around. As per the book "Fluent Forever", we're building small topical, not tropical, islands. In the long run you'll realize how much overlap there can be between these islands.
