Beginning with a conversation to understand your level, goals and interests, I will move you into an immersion experience where I speak Spanish the majority of the time, using images, examples, and body language to aid understanding. As you are ready, you will be asked to respond in varying levels of complexity from simple yes/no, either/or answers to responding with requests for preferences and other information.
I have an exceptionally strong understanding of and ability to explain the structures of Spanish verb patterns and grammar, excellent strategies for word study, a good understanding of culture. My former students affectionately called these nuggets "Zookies Cookies."
An example lesson will include a set of regular warm-up questions which can lead to a lesson based on where the conversation takes us; OR I might prepare an interactive lesson on a specific topic using GoogleSlides; OR you or I might bring a song, article, or other bit of realia to analyze and learn from - the options are endless and can be based on what you want to learn and be able to do.
I have 16 years of classroom experience teaching high school students and am confident I can teach anyone from middle school to adults of any age. I am very engaging with younger children in person as well, though it would be a new experience to teach children online.
I can teach novice to advanced students, A1 to C1 level students. ¡Vamos!
