About Zachary

I have always loved plants and nature, and for the last 5 years I have been eating a plant-based diet. I graduated in Ecology and Conservation Biology a couple of years ago, and throughout this degree I developed a very deep and personal interest in Ecology, and what it means (or should mean) to us. This led me to permaculture, agroecology, and a quest for simple, natural ways of living. Over the past three years I have read and experimented, and I feel that I have a lot to offer in the way of developing an ecological understanding, and turning this toward practical application at home. From simply growing edibles, medicinal plants, and natives, to positioning and planning, waste management; as well as finer ecological aspects such as stratification, succession, and predator/pest dynamics. If gardening just isn't your thing, you want grow some fresh additions to your home-cooked meals, or you're curious about a deeper ecological context, I'm sure I can help you!

About the lesson

My lessons and workshops will be aimed at you. Not only what you're struggling with, but what you understand well, and how you best learn, in order to foster more thorough understanding and improvement. Something I feel is probably the most valuable about the way I teach, is I genuinely want to help you. I will take the time with you and adapt the way I am teaching to suit you. I always endeavour to explain something in the simplest way I can, to ensure real understanding, rather than simple memorisation, and I will not move on without being satisfied with your progress. Additionally, I am available for free correspondence online should you need any clarification or advice.

Details

I will only charge $ 5 for travel if under 20 km. I am willing to travel up to 50 km, and perhaps further with a negotiated fee.
