Parents can see their child need extra help apart from school and there is where a tutor comes in. Dividing into chunks of a lesson, coming down to child's levels and then addressing the concerns bit by bit can take a child's confusion away. Once he/she becomes confident in solving the problems they can reach their potential by working more hard. I work with patience and compassion with the child so they can open up about the problems they are having in a particular subject. KS1 and KS2 children are still so young that they do not need to rush on certain topics and they may need more time to grasp the concept. A lesson can take half an hour to one hour to finish depending on the class.
