About Iris Rui Si
My name is Iris Yu, and I’m a second-year student at Emily Carr majoring in visual arts. I have a deep appreciation for all kinds of art, and I’m experienced with drawing, digital art, sculpting, acrylic and watercolor painting. A little fun fact about me is that I am fascinated with the 20th-century Modernist movement and how it led to contemporary art as it is today!

Introducing you to the creative experience! We will go over pencil and charcoal drawing, figure sketching, painting, and digital illustration, and how they are used in the art world. I may give brief presentations before starting to show the possibilities within a medium and familiarize you with it.
While I will give you suggestions and point out mistakes, I will never draw over your work or do anything to change it.
I prefer allowing you to look for your own mistakes before directly naming them, so you can develop a better eye and carry it on with future projects.
We will run over all kinds of styles and experiment with process.
This class is at the beginner level but is open to all ages.
