About Erika

I am Queruibin Erika Mateo Anga-angan, 25 years of age. When I was young, I used to watch many cartoon movies or any movies that involve the English language, including reading books. I love to read stories, which is the area where I learned to talk and know the English language, and it became one of my dreams to be an English teacher. My mother is an elementary teacher up to the moment, which is one of the reasons why I was inspired to become an educator too. I managed the sleepless nights when I was studying, especially in college, because I want to give my best potential in teaching. Doing lesson plans, creative instructional materials, and a good detailed lesson plan is one of the main factors that is needed in teaching. During my intern, I was with 5 co-practice teachers, and I was chosen as the Efficiency Awardee because of my expertise. I know that this is not just about my teaching skills but the impact of it; I gave the satisfaction that they were wanting. So as an individual who graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary School, my field here is general, which contains many subjects, mainly English, Math, and Science. I was not able to continue my teaching job in the Philippines because I moved to Australia, where my partner lives and where the English language is everything. That I realized I can still continue my teaching here online by helping students and giving them the best offer that I could. Staying here abroad where English is the language, it made me realize that I was not fluent way back then in the Philippines because the English language there is the second language only. Here in Australia, every day I am learning new words and even vocabulary because every day I socialize with people using the English language. I even attended a free English class because I am so eager to be fluent in English, which helps me lots as a teacher. My interests in online teaching are, I want to share my knowledge and expertise about the English language, where it is becoming the language that is mostly now in our era (21st century). I want to help students who are struggling in English that encourages them to learn it, which can be used for them when they grow up or even in the field of study, to help them think that learning English is not that hard as long as we are here for them as teachers to guide them. When it is required for the students to present a topic inside the classroom, they will not be shy and embarrassed in front of people/crowd. When they go around and talk to people, they are not going to be struggling to have a conversation using the English language. If someone asks where this place is (direction), it will make them confident to talk more and broaden their knowledge of what they know in English. This job I guarantee that I will give the best that I can to the students that I will be dealing with. I can say that I am well prepared to be one of the best teachers of my students here online. I want to meet and learn the other beliefs and cultures of the students around the world that differ from what is mine by teaching the English language. I want to utilize this unique opportunity. They don't just learn from me, but I will also benefit from them. I want to learn new languages, not just English, so that it will be easier for me to connect to my students. It will take time for me to learn new languages too, but I can say that it is a good investment. I am excited just by thinking about it because teaching is where my heart belongs. I know that teaching is not easy, but I know myself that I have a huge passion for it. That is why I am here hoping I can be one on your team of online educators because I want to make friends here too. It is amazing how we all came from such different backgrounds and parts of the world, yet we share so many similarities in life.

About the lesson

I am Erika, I will be your full-time teacher for English in reading, writing, and speed. I graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education, and I will be handling kids ages 4-12 years old. I will be preparing you stories with pictures.
