About Sean

I am a high school education assistant with 3 years experience working with students with learning and cognitive disabilities. I am proficient in guiding students through stress and time management, refining executive function, and nurturing creative output.

Witnessing students flourish as they develop effective time management skills and conquer stress has been immensely gratifying. My commitment to enhancing their executive function has resulted in their growth, empowering them to excel in both academics and personal pursuits.

Furthermore, I enjoy fostering creativity among students, encouraging them to think outside the box and produce innovative ideas. The collaborative process of refining their creativity for academic projects is one I am committed to.

I am eager to bring these invaluable skills to you. If you are seeking a dedicated tutor who is passionate about elevating your academic success through tailored guidance, I am confident in my ability to make a positive impact.

About the lesson

Students often require some guidance on what they are going to write about. I offer this by asking a number of questions regarding the material they are studying, and from their answers, highlight their point of view on the material. With this information, we will develop a good essay hypothese together! When the hypothesis is complete, I assist with breaking down the writing of the essay into manageable chunks (e.g. Intro, BP 1, conclusion, etc.) for the students. Once they've completed a draft I will edit the essay with notes they may either accept or ignore. If you wish for additional edits that can be arranged!

Beyond just completing assignments, we will focus on developing essential skills such as critical thinking, analysis, and effective communication. These skills are not only valuable in high school but also lay a solid foundation for success in higher education and beyond.

Writing essays can be daunting, but having someone work with you will help you gain the confidence to express your ideas articulately and persuasively. My goal is to instil confidence in students so they are adequately prepared for their future education goals.
