I started to learn Egyptian Arabic with Atef and had a beautiful experience!

I was happy to work with someone pushing me to speak and giving concrete tools to apply directly!

We used a lot of conversation to learn new vocabulary and grammatical rules step by step!

My daughter started studying with Atef more than 3 years ago and she loves her classes with him. He has a great approach to children and makes the class fun and studying after the class even better. He explains well, and guides well in the journey of learning a new language.

I've known Atef for many years, he's always a delight to be around and I'm honoured to write this review :) He is definitely the best language teacher I've had. In general, he's a solid person to have as a friend and mentor. He makes learning easy and fun with his great sense of humour, warmth and passion for helping people.

Atef has been my instructor for multiple years, and he has consistently been a kind and patient instructor. He is excellent at providing feedback, corrections, and engaging in multiple formats in learning while also adjusting topics to suit student interests and needs (including speaking, listening, reading, etc.). He has been immeasurably fantastic in helping me learn Arabic, and I plan to continue taking lessons from him in the future. I enthusiastically recommend him to other learners of any level!

Atef is an excellent Arabic instructor. He made the lessons engaging and always explained thing clearly and patiently. My Arabic improved exponentially once I started working with him.

I can definitely recommend Atef. I speak 6 languages and I have experience in learning languages in different contexts. And I can say that I really like he’s teaching style. With Atef we had online classes and I liked how he makes the online learning easy and fun. He explains the structure of the language and the grammar very well. Lessons are well prepared and yet he is eager to focus on learning needs and interests of learner and can change lesson’s plan if desired. I had experience in studying arabic (with 2 different teachers), but after classes with Atef I can say that I have become more conscious about the language, about structure of words and constructions used.

Atef is warm and encouraging teacher. Each class with him is thoroughly enjoyable and engaging, I feel excited to revise everything I've learned and I feel encouraged without embarrassment if I slip up. I cannot recommend Atef highly enough, he's a fantastic teacher.

Atef is one of the best teachers I have ever met. He is kind, patient, innovative and knowledgeable. My daughter learned a lot while having Atef as a teacher and she had a lot of fun as well. I wholeheartedly recommend Atef to anyone who is looking for a teacher with solid knowledge, impressive interpersonal skills and passion for his job.

Atef is an excellent Arabic teacher! He has a natural teaching style,  and focuses on "normal" conversation (topics that you want to speak about),  as opposed to the type of curriculum where you sometimes learn a lot of stuff that really isn't useful in real life. He also uses Anki cards, where he will register words and sentences that I don't know (with voice!), it is incredibly helpful for practicing whenever you have time. Probably the best language learning tool out there.

Maybe one of the best things about his teaching style is that he will always give you the opportunity to talk,  which I guess sounds obvious- but I have actually had quite a few other teachers who will spend most of the time talking themselves. That can be very demotivating, since speaking is probably the most important thing when you are learning a new language. 

He is also super patient, very funny, and extremely knowledgeable with grammar.

Atef is really invested in his students,  and he will always come up with new activities and make a real effort to motivate me.  I feel like he genuinely wants me to learn, and that in itself is very motivating.

I have studied with him once a week for almost 2 years now,  and I am very happy with the results. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Atef for his ability to work with my strengths, to encourage but also maintain achievable learning outcomes, his knowledge of language and grammar, and his extensive skills and experience in teaching Arabic. Atef’s sense of humour has meant that I feel relaxed and the lessons flow very smoothly.

Atef is highly intelligent and is able to deliver content to students in a fun and egaging manner. His ability to direct the students mind to "learn how to learn" is a skill that will only serve to increase their neurological development in all aspects of life. I have taken Egyptian Arabic lessons from Atef for about 2 years. He is an excellent teacher who will tailor each lesson to fit your needs and makes it fun.

He is extremely patient and answers all questions. He will even respond to questions between lessons.

He has an idiomatic grasp of American English. He will use rules of grammar if you want, or will explain clearly without having to remember the difference between adverbs, adjectives and participles for those of us who have been out of school awhile.

What started as a teacher/student relationship has evolved into a friendship.

Atef is a fantastic teacher for all age groups and has been my 7 year old son’s teacher for some time. Atef’s knowledge base, fluency, and approach to teaching allows young students, of all ages,to feel comfortable and at ease. He often employs games and focuses on the students’ interests to aid in building rapport while integrating language learning within the games and general discussions. He excels in making the classes both enjoyable and appealing and will often switch approaches within a session to further individualize the lesson to the student, help maintain energy/interest, and challenge the student in a playful and positive manner. Atef is patient, kind, timely and always provides feedback positively. It’s quite apparent that he takes a child’s age and developmental level into consideration during the classes, which makes the lessons that much more effective and enjoyable. The progress my son has made with Atef’s lessons has been quite amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend Atef to anyone, in any age group, for Arabic lessons. Atef currently teaches me as well and my fluency has improved exponentially, as a result.
