I’m very big on scales and improvisation. An electric guitarist should be very well versed with their scales. My focus is always improving the speed of a students scales week to week, setting homework to practice, it’s fundamental for solos and improv. Chords are just as valuable, learning as many different shapes and forms. Knowledge is power. I strongly believe in ensuring a student is confident with their skills before moving on.
I am a student of theology (funny enough). I am very active in the world of worship and strive to play as often as possible. Catch me playing gigs in cafes in Northbridge or for my fellow students at college. I’ve been playing for 9 years now, I took lessons for 6. Now I’d like to impart my knowledge to the younger players!
To whom it concerns,
For travel, I like to keep it down to $5. If it is more than 30mins; $10. This helps with fuel if I have to make long trips for students far away. It helps the people that need a little extra help.
If you need to borrow a guitar, I am happy to bring a spare ️. I only ask for $5 per session for guitar hire... once again, goes to fuel. I would recommend buying one if you/ your child will be doing guitar long term.
Finally, I kindly ask those students/parents to send me a message regarding student skill level prior, if they are attending school lessons and if so, what are the lessons on so I can support the teachers teaching. If you wish your child to progress quicker with their learning, homework is essential. I can recommend books that contain at home material for practice
