About Mark
I am an experienced classroom teacher and tutor with about 30 years of working in education. I have worked in schools in NSW and Queensland and have taught mathematics to many students at different abilities and levels, including adults at university, trade and vocational level.
I have also done private tutoring over the years and have been a successful tutor for private coaching colleges in Sydney and Brisbane. I have had about two (2) years of online teaching of year 5 & 6 mathematics.
I haven't always been a teacher. I left school at 17 years of age and worked in electronics trades for a few years before deciding to study electrical engineering and practised that in a consultancy in Sydney for a few years.
I am a satisfactory classroom teacher, yet I am more competent as a private tutor. As an individual with varied work experience and strong knowledge in what I teach, I reckon I can shine a stronger light of practicality and reality into your lessons with me. I enjoy seeing my students empowered, confident and successful.

I am a flexible teacher who can help you with specific topics and take you systematically through them to also providing specialised assistance with assignments and homework. I prefer working with up to two (2) students maximum.
First, I like to learn about you and that involves us having a small chat and assessment which assists me in better meeting your needs. It helps us see if we can work well together, because I want you to feel comfortable with me.
I can provide assistance with whole of subject and specific topics. I prefer to teach in parallel with your school program. I insist on including a literacy component in all my teaching.
I work with Zoom and PowerPoint. If you want lesson copies and document transfers, email interaction will also be required.
My main proficiency is in mathematics between year 5-year 12. I am able to prepare students of Physics. NAPLAN assistance is also available.
