About Mohammed Ismaeel
I am an Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics and Engineering. My university studies included five semesters of Mathematics modules as well as Applied Mathematics, giving me a strong mathematical foundation beyond the high-school curriculum.
During my time at UKZN, I also served as a Student Instructor (SI Leader), providing additional classes and academic support to university students. As an SI Leader, my role was to help students strengthen their understanding of difficult concepts, work through problems and improve their performance in the module. The SI programme is designed to provide structured peer-assisted learning and help improve overall student outcomes.

I teach Mathematics and Physics to students aged approximately 13–18, including GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level students and students following comparable international high-school curricula.
My lessons focus on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than relying on memorisation. I use clear, step-by-step explanations, worked examples and guided practice, gradually progressing to more challenging questions. I adapt each lesson to the student's current ability, syllabus and learning objectives.
Lessons are typically 1 to 2 hours and can cover:
Core concepts and fundamentals
Homework and coursework support
Exam preparation
Past-paper questions
Problem-solving techniques
Identifying and correcting knowledge gaps
Building confidence in Mathematics and Physics
My aim is to help students understand how and why mathematical and scientific methods work, enabling them to approach unfamiliar questions confidently.
