About the lesson

My methodology is centered on I-D-M-C (Illustrate, Deepen, Model, Challenge): Illustrate the Concept (Visual/Intuitive): I begin every new topic by providing a strong analogy or a visual/graphical representation. For example, I might explain derivatives not just as a formula, but as the instantaneous speed of a car on a winding road. This connects the abstract concept to intuition. Deepen the Foundations (Theoretical): We then work through the core mathematical definition and properties. I use the "Why" method: constantly asking students why a particular formula works or why an algebraic step is valid. Model the Technique (Problem-Solving): I demonstrate various problem types, showing my step-by-step thinking process. This includes common pitfalls and test-taking shortcuts relevant for the SAT/ACT. Challenge for Mastery (Active Recall): The student then immediately applies the knowledge to similar and progressively more difficult problems. This utilizes active recall and interleaving (mixing different problem types) to solidify the knowledge.
