About Annika

Hi! My name is Annika, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Honors) at university, in NSW Australia.

I have always enjoyed mathematics and have a strong academic background in the subject (completing Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Extension 2 in Year 12, all of which I placed first in my class, alongside Physics and Chemistry, earning Dux of my school). I am patient, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping others understand concepts that they may initially find difficult.

Outside of university, I also compete competitively with horses at a national level. Balancing university, competitive sport, training and other responsibilities has taught me the importance of managing a busy schedule and making good use of my time. I understand that students often have to balance school, extracurricular activities, sport and other commitments, so I believe it is important that tutoring is both efficient and purposeful.

Rather than simply memorizing formulas or completing questions without understanding them, I focus on making sure students genuinely understand the concepts they are learning. This means they can use their time effectively, approach problems with confidence and apply what they have learned independently.

I am reliable, organized and committed to creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening their understanding or building confidence in mathematics, I would love to help them reach their potential.

About the lesson

I believe the best way to learn mathematics is to truly understand how and why something works, rather than simply memorizing formulas or following steps.

As an undergraduate Electrical & Electronic Engineering student, I have a strong background in mathematics and enjoy breaking difficult concepts down into simple, easy to understand steps. I am patient, approachable and happy to explain a concept in different ways until it makes sense to the student.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual level, learning style and areas of difficulty. Depending on what the student needs, we can work through current school topics, revise challenging concepts, complete practice questions, prepare for upcoming assessments, or build confidence in areas where they may be struggling.

I offer lessons for students from Primary School through to Year 10 Mathematics. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can be flexible depending on the student's age and needs.

My goal is not just to help students get the correct answer, but to help them develop the confidence and skills to work things out independently.
