About Laura
I am a highly effective teacher of eight years at my local elementary school. I teach math and science to third graders and love the content just as much as the students! I have also tutored students on an individual bases for 5 years in both 3rd grade and 4th grade math.

I approach math with a hands-on mentality. Students need to understand that math is all about a story, and I work to show my kids that on a regular basis in class. My ultimate goal is to have students visualize what the story (or word problem) is saying so that they can understand the math that goes along with it. I also understand the importance of math fluency, whether it is addition and subtraction or multiplication and division.
