About Collette
I am a passionate teacher, who believes everyone is born with a Mathematical mind. Everyone can understand and enjoy Maths if given the right instruction.
I also believe each learner is unique and must learn at their own pace. I treat my learners as adults and work with them to guide their learning and to identify what they need help with and what work they have mastered and are ready to move on to something more challenging.
I believe Maths should be demonstrated with concrete materials and only once the learner understands the concept should on move to abstract work.

I struggled with Maths at school because the lessons were abstract and the teacher would move on to new concepts whether I understood them or not. This all changed when I became a teacher and taught Maths abroad.
I trained further in the Montessori approach which focuses on the use of concrete material and going along at the individual's pace.
I will use digital Montessori material to demonstrate Maths concepts, give you time to practice, and help you understand the relevance of the work.
I am extremely patient and will work with you to identify what help you need and help you understand the Maths concepts you want to master.
