About Jeffrey
I have been teaching for 17 years in grade levels from 2nd to 5th grade. I value getting to know the students first before the academics can truly begin. I feel that once the students trust that I am there to help them and support them than they can begin to accept my academic instruction. In addition, I come from a long line of teachers, some who have won major teaching awards, including teacher of the year and a Buffett Award Winner so I know what is needed to be successful in this job and I have an internal desire to be just as good or better than the teachers before me.

I like to start with a pre test to see what the students already knows about the topic at hand. In addition, i like to take the first lesson to get to know the student so I can best gear my lessons to meet their individual academic needs. Finally, I strive to blend academic games with modeling of the topic to make things more enjoyable for the student and hopefully create much needed confidence in their abilities going forward.
