About Josiah

My name is Josiah, and I have been playing chess for most of my life, but I have only taken it seriously since the pandemic. I played many games with my friends at school, but I slowly started to surpass their ratings. My highest elo has reached 2106 (99.9 percentile), and I have won against players as high as 2706. I play at a chess club where I frequently beat titled players.

About the lesson

A typical lesson would include working on chess puzzles to enhance tactical vision, going over openings, perfecting positional play, analyzing games of strong players, and analyzing personal games to find aspects to improve upon. I allow students to play games against people to relax from studying when needed because I firmly believe that you will get burnt out if you overwork your brain. That is also an opportunity to see what principles they are taking from the lessons. I teach anyone from 100 elo to 1200 elo.
