About Alexiel

My journey with classical music began when I was just six years old in Vienna, where I was completely immersed in the old-world European operatic tradition. Growing up in that environment gave me an intuitive, deep-rooted understanding of vocal mechanics and classical repertoire. Later on, I wanted to bring that rigorous European discipline into a contemporary space, so I completed a certificate at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. That experience really helped me bridge the gap between world-class vocal execution and modern, professional stagecraft.
Beyond the music, I am a dedicated method actor. I’ve always felt that the most gripping performances happen when a flawless vocal line meets raw emotional truth. Far too often, singers with gorgeous technique feel disconnected from the character, while brilliant actors find themselves vocally held back from the dramatic roles they want to play. In my coaching, we work to make your voice and your psychological reality entirely inseparable. We break down librettos like a script, using sensory recall and character psychology to find the immediate, high stakes of your role so you can sing directly through the character’s emotional reality without ever compromising your technique.
I am also deeply passionate about how a voice interacts with space—honestly, one of my absolute favorite places to practice and feel the raw, brilliant feedback of vocal resonance was an indoor racquetball court in Golden Gate Park. Because my own home is full of my dogs, I keep my teaching setup highly flexible and mobile. I offer remote coaching sessions over the phone or video, as well as mobile in-person sessions throughout the East Bay Area using local rehearsal studios, rental performance spaces, or creative locations with excellent natural resonance. I love working with intermediate to advanced vocalists, dedicated actors, and performing professionals ages nineteen and up who are truly ready to live their roles and command the stage.

The most compelling performances happen when a flawless vocal line meets raw emotional truth. Far too often, singers with gorgeous technique feel completely disconnected from the stage, while brilliant actors find themselves vocally held back from the dramatic roles they want to play. My name is Alexiel de Ravenswood, and I design my coaching specifically to bridge that gap. True artistry demands that your voice and your psychological reality become entirely inseparable. If you are an opera singer, a musical theater performer, or a dramatic artist looking to command the stage with both vocal power and deep presence, this coaching is built for you. I don't just teach people how to make beautiful sounds; I train the total artist to live truthfully under the lights.
My approach to teaching is rooted in a lifetime of rigorous, authentic performance tradition. I was classically trained in Vienna starting at six years old, inheriting a deep, intuitive understanding of the European operatic pedigree, healthy vocal mechanics, and precise linguistic diction. I balanced this classical European foundation with contemporary professional stagecraft at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. As a dedicated method actor, I merge these two worlds to teach you how to strip away generic stage gestures and replace them with visceral human experience. Together, we use sensory recall, script analysis, and character psychology to discover the immediate, high stakes of your role, training you to sing directly through the character’s emotional reality without ever compromising your vocal technique.
Our sessions are tailored to your specific artistic goals and the technical demands of your repertoire. On the vocal side, we focus on building a healthy classical foundation, centering on true appoggio breath support, resonance, and the stamina needed to handle demanding operatic and theatrical literature safely. We break down your text and librettos like a script, finding your deep personal connection to the piece so that your acting is always genuinely felt rather than just indicated. I have always been deeply passionate about how a voice interacts with space—from grand halls to the raw, brilliant acoustics of an indoor racquetball court—and I teach you how to dial into that physical, resonant feedback to truly understand your own instrument.
I offer both remote coaching sessions over the phone or video, as well as flexible, mobile in-person sessions throughout the East Bay Area. For in-person work, we can utilize local rehearsal studios, rental performance spaces, or creative locations with excellent natural resonance. This coaching is open to intermediate and advanced vocalists, dedicated actors, and working professionals ages sixteen and up who are ready to elevate their craft. Because every performer’s journey is entirely unique, we begin with a comprehensive initial assessment to map out your training.
