About Andres

My name is Andres Urquiola, and I am a professional tennis player with active experience on the ATP Challenger circuit. Currently, I am a student-athlete at Queens College, where I balance my academic goals with high-level competition. Being a ranked player has given me a deep, practical understanding of the game that I now share with the New York tennis community.

I have spent my career traveling internationally for tournaments, which has provided me with a unique perspective on technical discipline and mental toughness. My presence in the professional rankings is a testament to my commitment to the sport. I don't just teach theory; I offer insights based on real-time experience at the elite level.

I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and highly adaptable. Whether I am hitting with a fellow competitor or helping a club player refine their technique, my goal is to provide a high-quality, professional environment that inspires growth and excellence on the court.

High-Performance Training & Professional Sparring:

As an active professional player competing on the ATP Challenger and ITF circuit and a student-athlete at Queens College, I bring a modern, high-performance perspective to my sessions. My coaching philosophy is built on the belief that every player, regardless of level, can benefit from the same technical discipline and mental focus used at the professional level.

Teaching Method and Techniques:

My methodology is centered on efficiency and real-game situations through live-ball training. I believe players progress much faster by rallying at a realistic speed rather than just doing static drills. I see myself as a high-level sparring coach who rallies with you to build your rhythm, timing, and consistency. I adapt my pace to your specific needs: I can play at a slower pace for those learning the basics, or turn up the heat for those seeking a professional-grade workout.

Personalized Evaluation & Progress Tracking:

Something I value deeply is communication. I start every session by listening to you: I want to know exactly which shot or situation you want to improve. From the very first ball we hit, I perform a professional evaluation of your technique and rhythm. At the end of the lesson, we compare where you started versus how you are finishing the session. This 'before and after' analysis ensures that you leave the court with a clear understanding of your improvements and a specific plan for what to work on next. My goal is for you to feel a tangible difference in your game every single time we step off the court.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

Dynamic Warm-up: Professional movements to activate the body and prevent injury.

Consistency Rallies: Finding a solid, deep rhythm from the baseline adapted to your level.

Live-Ball Patterns: Practical exercises to improve your aim, footwork, and point construction.

On-the-fly Coaching: Immediate feedback fixed in real-time while we play.

What Sets Me Apart:

What distinguishes my approach is the real-time experience of being an active competitor. I am on the baseline with you, hitting every ball and encouraging you to reach the next level.
