About Venessa
I bring over 25 years of professional logic, organization, and communication experience to my peer tutoring. Once again a current student myself, I completely understand the academic pressures and math anxiety that many students face. Lucky for you math just happens to be my favorite!
My personal journey through physical recovery and long-term caregiving has given me an immense amount of patience, empathy, and a unique ability to explain difficult concepts in a calm, judgment-free zone. I don't just teach the formulas; I mentor students to build the genuine confidence they need to succeed independently.

My math lessons focus on removing the anxiety around numbers and building logical, step-by-step problem-solving skills.
What a typical lesson looks like:
- Concept Breakdown: We tackle confusing math rules by translating them into simple, everyday language. I break complex equations down into manageable, bite-sized steps so you never feel overwhelmed.
- Practical Tools: I focus heavily on the "why" behind the math, using real-world scenarios and visual aids to help the logic click.
- Guided Practice: We work through your active school assignments, practice problems, and exam prep together in a supportive, patient environment.
How we work together (Booking Policy):
*For New Students: Before our first session, we will do a quick 20-minute video check-in or connect over email. I require an email copy of your current curriculum outline or specific topics you want to cover so I can prepare completely in advance.
**For Regular Students: To ensure high-quality lesson prep, all scheduled sessions require a minimum of 2 days' notice. All lessons are conducted online via webcam.

Details
Lesson Pack Policy: Discounted 5-hour and 10-hour packages must be paid in full prior to scheduling sessions.
Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be billed at the full rate.
Onboarding: New students must provide their lesson topics/materials via email at least 48 hours before the first official session.
