About Maha

I’m Dr. Maha Ahmed, a qualified dentist with a Dental Surgery degree from the University of Leeds. Throughout my time in dental school and beyond, I’ve supported students at various stages—from those applying to dental school to those preparing for clinical exams like OSCEs. I want to teach because I know how tough and overwhelming the dental journey can be. I’ve been there myself, and I’m passionate about making things clearer, simpler, and more manageable for others. I love helping students build confidence, truly understand what they’re learning, and see how it all connects in real clinical practice. Teaching gives me the chance to share my knowledge, support future dentists, and play a role in their growth and success.

About the lesson

I’m Dr. Maha Ahmed, a qualified dentist with a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Dental Surgery degree from the University of Leeds. With over 8 years of combined academic, clinical, and teaching experience, I’m deeply committed to making complex dental concepts more accessible and helping students excel at every stage of their learning journey. In my years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students at various levels—from those just starting dental school to those preparing for clinical exams like OSCEs. My tutoring has spanned a broad range of topics, including oral surgery, restorative dentistry, anatomy, pathology, and basic science. I focus on helping students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its real-world clinical application. Whether it’s breaking down difficult concepts in dental anatomy or guiding students through treatment planning and clinical reasoning, I aim to create a clear and manageable pathway for them to succeed. Beyond the technical aspects of dentistry, I also provide mentoring to students applying to dental school, offering tailored support with UCAT and BMAT preparation. My approach involves helping students build effective revision strategies, improve time management, and develop the confidence needed to perform well in both exams and clinical assessments. In addition to my work with dental students, I’ve also tutored individuals in a variety of subjects, ranging from biology and chemistry to more specialised areas in biomedical sciences. This experience has allowed me to adapt my teaching methods to suit a variety of learning styles and foster a deeper understanding of complex material across disciplines. Through my tutoring, I aim to create an environment where students feel supported, engaged, and confident in their abilities. I’m committed to helping students not only excel in exams but also develop the clinical reasoning, professional mindset, and problem-solving skills that will serve them well throughout their dental careers.
