About Ashan
I am passionate about helping children achieve the 'a-ha' moment and enjoy nothing more than seeing a child's confidence and enjoyment in a subject develop.
I have been teaching in primary schools for 14 years and have been a senior leader for 6, so have a vast experience in different strategies and approaches to help young people learn and overcome challenges.

I am a experienced deputy head teacher who specialises in 11+ preparation (English, maths, verbal, non-verbal reasoning and preparation for interview) as well as maths and English teaching from 7+ onwards.
I believe children learn best when they are in a calm and relaxed environment, so endeavor to ensure my lessons and learning experiences are as enjoyable as possible. I also strive to instill confidence in a child in their own abilities.
I will start my sessions by finding out where the gaps in knowledge and areas of struggle are and then work to ensure these are covered for your child to make progress.
I will also keep parents informed of their child's progress and next steps on a regular basis, as this is vital to ensuring your child makes progress.
