About Kara
I have spent seven engaging years inspiring more than 210 students with ecology evolution and conservation. My background includes a master's in ecology and conservation biology and fieldwork in forests wetlands and marine environments. I have worked as field biologist environmental educator and teacher. My students have pursued environmental science conservation policy and ecological research. I am skilled at helping students see biology's relevance to climate change and habitat loss. I design field-based learning experiences. Outside of teaching I lead wildlife surveys and volunteer with habitat restoration. I believe biology education should inspire environmental stewardship.

My biology teaching is engaging and connected to the natural world emphasizing field observation and evolutionary principles. For ecology I teach survey design population data analysis and community dynamics. Conservation biology is taught through endangered species habitat restoration and policy frameworks. Evolutionary biology is presented as the central framework connecting genetics behavior and biogeography. I use outdoor inquiry-based approach encouraging observation and data collection. My lessons incorporate ecological datasets conservation stories and current environmental challenges. For exam preparation I teach accurate terminology graph interpretation and well-reasoned arguments. I also develop scientific skills including hypothesis testing and data analysis.
