About Meredith
I am a fairly recent college graduate, with a major in civil engineering and a minor in chemistry. I have been tutoring in my spare time since graduation, and really enjoy working with kids/teens to understand math and overcome a little bit of fear a lot of kids have about it.

I will work with the student to go over current coursework, work through homework and practice problems, and generate a deeper understanding. I believe that *every* child can succeed in math. A typical session with me for 9th grade geometry would look like this:
1. Go over any recent quizzes or tests if there are any
2. Read over the questions, then make a game plan for the session. If we were working on parallel lines, we would review the properties of parallel lines and intersections.
3. Start working through the problems, with an emphasis on making sure that they truly understand why the rules work like they do.
4. Check the problems and answer any questions, then schedule our next session.
Of course, this can change and evolve with each individual student!
