About Jack
I hold a 2:1 BEng(Hons) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Leicester. I will be commencing a MSc in Medical Statistics in September 2021 and currently am involved in a number of projects using statistical methods in medical applications. I have A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and D&T: Systems & Control, with a particular focus on trigonometry, complex numbers, calculus, and electronics and electricity.

I believe that the best way to approach a complex topic such as maths and physics is to break it down into small steps and develop a practical understanding of what you are trying to achieve. Often, it is best to avoid complicated notation until an understanding of the topic is developed using visual guides and metaphors. This is particularly useful in physics when trying to understand electricity, and in maths when first approaching calculus.
I have found that it can be quite daunting if a teacher has rushed ahead and left a student behind with no context or understanding of the topic, and it is important to first address that in order to enable effective learning, both with a tutor and in the classroom.
