About Layla
I am a recent high school graduate that has helped tutor friends, family, and neighbors since 8th grade. I have taught younger kids ranging from ages 8-12 for longer, but have helped out or led study groups at my high school. My brother can read and write because of me, and is better at understanding math word problems, along with two other friends who understand chemistry and basic algebra because of my help.

I like to try multiple methods to understand how a person's mind works and to follow their pace, either by breaking things down or by showing the process, whatever helps the student best. I often plan ahead of time, having worksheets or problems to go over before class starts, and take time to show a student, then see just how much they retained and where they are struggling on their own. My classes are best suited for students who want to gain a deeper understanding of their subjects or get ahead of the program.
