About Noel
Hello! My name is Noel Kusuma and I am a rising sophomore in college. I am studying Civil Engineering and have excelled at all subjects related to math. Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. I can also tutor math subjects in elementary school and middle school. I tutor K-12 students, and I tailor each lesson to how you think, whether that means visuals, real-world examples, or working through problems step by step. I'm patient, easy to talk to, and genuinely enjoy watching a concept finally click for a student. Outside of math, I love the outdoors. I love playing sports like basketball, soccer, and pickleball with my friends. I also love camping and hiking. I'm looking forward to helping you build confidence and get ahead!

As a tutor, I take an adaptive approach — no two students learn the same way, so I adjust my style based on their needs rather than following a fixed script. I start by asking students to walk me through their thinking, which helps me spot whether a gap is conceptual, procedural, or just a careless mistake. From there, I use visual models, real-world analogies, or step-by-step breakdowns depending on what clicks for that student, and I favor guided questions over handing out answers so they build real problem-solving confidence.
A typical lesson includes a quick check-in, a short warm-up to activate prior knowledge, focused instruction on the day's topic, guided practice with hints as needed, some independent practice, and a wrap-up recapping key takeaways.
What sets me apart is my strong personal foundation in math combined with genuine flexibility — I meet each student where they are instead of applying one method to everyone. I tutor K-12 students, from elementary arithmetic through high school algebra, geometry, and even calculus, especially those who feel anxious about math or learn differently than their classroom teaches.
