About Issy
I am a creative writing degree student with experience both as a private tutor and as volunteer teacher in Nepal where I taught English as a foreign language. I hold a TEFL certificate and have experience designing lesson plans and resources that were used and published by a small NGO. Being an active learner myself I like to engage students through dynamic and visual training.

I teach in a very informal but engaged style, where I hope to balance focus with fun! My classes are designed around the needs of the individual, I cater for all levels and abilities.
For English as a foreign language students I design fun lessons based on topics that interest the student, gathering relevant resources in that area. This could be video, audio or text to broaden vocabulary and provoke discussion. I will also provide access to online resources.
For English school students my lessons are aimed at getting the young person to fall in love with prose not just study for the sake of a grade. I can help with structuring essays in critical, reflective and discursive style and can also provide a personal statement workshopping service.
For adult learners I provide one to one workshops for those looking to enhance their creative writing skills I brush up on their syntax. This can include poetry walks and prose practice excercises.
