About Gia Gourav

Hi!
My name is Gia and I am an international student currently pursuing training to become a professional dancer, alongside a strong academic background in humanities subjects. Throughout my final years of high school, my core subjects included English, History, Political Science, and Psychology, along with Painting (theory and practical), in which I consistently performed strongly.

I have a deep passion for English Literature, especially classical texts, and I particularly enjoy studying and discussing Shakespeare. I enjoy analyzing themes, language, and meaning, and helping others understand literature in a more engaging and accessible way.

My teaching approach focuses on guiding students through ideas rather than simply providing answers. I encourage brainstorming, structured thinking, and clear organization of thoughts before writing. I do not “spoon-feed” answers—instead, I help students build the skills to develop strong essays and responses independently and confidently.

My goal is to support students in improving both their academic performance and their ability to think critically, write clearly, and express ideas effectively.

About the lesson

My lessons are interactive, structured, and tailored to each student’s academic goals, with a focus on developing strong writing, critical thinking, and exam performance skills.

I support students through the full writing process—from brainstorming and organising ideas to drafting, refining, and editing their work. I help students adjust their writing style depending on the task, whether it is a reflective essay, analytical response, or speech, ensuring they can communicate clearly and effectively in each format.

Alongside English Literature and Creative Writing, I also support students in humanities-based subjects such as History, Political Science, and Psychology. Having studied these subjects extensively, I focus on helping students understand content deeply while also learning how to structure answers in a way that meets exam expectations and maximises marks.

This includes learning how to break down questions, build strong arguments, and present information in a clear and structured way that aligns with marking criteria.

My goal is not only to improve academic results but also to help students become confident, independent thinkers who know how to approach any essay or exam question effectively.
