My teaching method is based around establishing a firm understanding of texts being studied, which then allows students to talk about them more fluently, thus improving answers. In addition to this, I find that being efficient with words when responding to a question is very helpful when it comes to gaining higher marks. For students with closed book exams, remembering a key list of quotes that are adaptable to different questions is also a good practice that I try and assist with. Additionally, understanding basic themes in texts is an easy way to improve insight into them, therefore making it easier to analyse them.
